BWXT is currently looking for positions for a UPRR Facility helper.

Description / Duties :

• Maintains cleanliness of MAA recovery/SFF/Down blend controlled areas to comply with cleanliness standards, radiation protection requirements on contamination and ALARA.
• Operates Ludlum counter, waster compactor, applies tamper safe seals and transports waste containers to assist in disposing of LLRW such as office paper and gloves.
• Operates well counter to sample solution prior to sending solution to waste treatment.
• Empties controlled area clothing drums.
• Maintains inventory of controlled area support commodities such as gloves, filters, test tubes, beakers, etc. and restocks as needed.
• Conducts monthly safety and cleanliness audits.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications / Requirements :

• Must be able to demonstrate strict adherence to operational safety and criticality procedures.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain respirator qualifications and be capable of climbing ladders. Must be self-motivated and demonstrate good communication skills.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, with no dual citizenship.

US Citizenship, with no dual citizenship is required for this position. 

Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. Citizenship with (no dual citizenship) ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation, drug test and previous employment reference verifications.
